Speakers For Your Home Theatre System

It is sad how many consumers make the mistake of buying the inappropriate speakers for their home theatre systems, what they do is follow the instructions of the untrained salesmen who often lead them buy audio speakers that are not up to their expectations or needs. The other type of mistake that the consumers make is to buy one of the cheapest options available thinking that they are getting a good deal, while in reality, they end up with backdated speakers with poor sound output. Avoid such mistakes by buying speakers only after you know a bit about the market, the top manufacturers and their products.

Two side speakers, one for the front, one for the back, one in the center and a couple for the surround sound effect along with the sub-woofer will make up your home theater audio system. You can buy the surrounds from one manufacturer and the others from another manufacturer or in any other way you wish, but they need to be inter-compatible. To be sure that this compatibility is there, it is perhaps better to take the help of a professional or at least someone who has an idea about the stuff.

Standing floor speakers are the largest speakers that you can possibly buy, they produce a lot of sound at high bass. They can also be moved around the house to different rooms. Much smaller in size are the cabinet speakers and just like the floor speakers, they can also stand alone. Put them in shelves for a more judicious use of the space. A In-wall speaker would require installing from an expert as it has got a lot of wiring to deal with. You can have these speakers and not even see them if you have an adequately matched wall. The On-wall speakers are in some cases even better than In-wall speakers and produce even better sound. For best experience, try to couple on-wall speakers with a flat-panel television. These are the main types of speakers that you will find in the market from different manufacturers, in different models.

You must understand that to be able to experience proper home theater sound, factors like room dimensions, electrical outlet placement and the allotted space for the home theater are all to be taken into careful consideration before you actually buy the home theater system and start installing it. The sizes of speakers vary from minuscule to humongous but it is very important that you match your room size with the size of your home theater speakers. Imagine a small and cheap speaker trying to entertain a huge room full of people! Or imagine a huge floor speaker being played at a low volume in a smallish room. To avoid such distortion and thinning of sound, buy adequate speakers for the room that you plan to put your home theater into.

Test your speakers well before you buy them, may it be made up of wood, metal or plastic, all speakers from even the best of brands will not fit in if you are not careful.

“125,000 acres of nothing”? There’s an awful lot of commercial timber in there, not to mention some cattle and turf grass farms.
Also, the people who lived there and didn’t want to leave (and there were many) weren’t given the choice of move, or stay and never hearing again. It was move or move.
But, we can work there and hunt nearby, but can’t live 8 miles away. The test had flaws.

  7. wow… now play a thunderbolt tone

  22. According to imdb, the series was “released” in June of 2001. Odd..

  23. msudawg1997 Says:

Is it possible that maybe it was a little later, maybe late 2001 or after? I worked on A-2 continuously from mid-97 through September 2001 and can’t imagine any way that these guys could have been on the stand filming without me being aware of it. I spent just over 2 years (9/2001 to 12/04) working at a different area of Stennis before going back out to the A complex so I’m thinking this must have been when they filmed this.

  24. This was filmed around the year 2000 to be used by UK broadcasters if I recall correctly.

  25. msudawg1997 Says:

Interesting. The video is shot from the top of A-2 Test Stand. Based on what I see it’s at least a couple years or so ago. But I don’t remember this guy and crew being there to film- and I worked there for many years up until about 4 months ago. I did escort film crew for Discovery Channel “How Do They Do It” but this footage is new to me.
